The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé is a British handmade convertible manufactured by Rolls-Royce that debuted at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan, on 7 January 2007. The platform is based on the 2003 Rolls-Royce Phantom and has styling heavily derived from the 100EX, a concept car unveiled to celebrate the company's centennial in 2004.
The new BMW N 73 series engine gives power to the 2.5 ton Phantom. The 6750cc v-12 engine has 48 valves which work efficently under the valvetronic system. Throttle and break pedals are incorporated with electronic drive-by-wire facility. The petrol engine which has direct fuel injection has a maximum power of 453bhp and a torque of 720nm. The experts opinion is that Phantom Coupé is the most comfortable car in the Rolls-Royce series.
